Chambersburg Motorcyclist Killed In I-81 Crash: PA State Police

A 57-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene of a crash along Interstate 81 on Saturday, Aug. 10, Pennsylvania State Police Chambersburg announced the following day.

Carl L. Sheriff Jr., of Chambersburg, was riding a 2015 Victory Motorcycle on the off-ramp from I-81 South to Exit 14 when he side-swiped a relative's 2022 purple Polaris Slingshot around 8:24 p.m. Trooper Ethen Everetts detailed in the release.

During the crash, Sheriff, separated from his bike, striking the roadway, and becoming fatally injured, Everetts explained.

Sheriff was a Fulfillment Warehouse and Distribution Manager in North America for Versuni, according to his social media. He received numerous leadership awards including two from the US Army. Sheriff earned his Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership from Fort Hays State University in 2023, as detailed on his LinkedIn.
